Sparkle

Sparkle gives you the possibility of building websites from the ground up, by using nothing but basic tools. The main advantage is the fact that you don't need any HTML or CSS knowledge. Everything, from conceiving a website's design and architecture to finalizing its final aspects can be done without typing a single line of code. This means that you may focus all your attention on your website's contents, rather than bothering with all sorts of technical difficulties.

For a web design application, Sparkle has a surprisingly simple design. Its user interface shows a rather limited number of controls, but you won't feel the need for anything more. You can edit a web page in the central region of the user interface, edit inserted items in a column, on the right side and create new pages on the left side.

Editing a web page is like editing a slide in a slideshow. You can insert text or image boxes, buttons, embed videos and more, just by clicking their corresponding options. The inserted elements can be resized and moved anywhere on the page by simply clicking and dragging. When you select an item, a wide range of configuration options will show up on the left side of the window. You can use them to scale the selected element, switch it between different modes and to make many other adjustments.

A particularly useful feature is the possibility of applying preset layouts, for various devices, like computers, tablets or mobile phones. You can preview your work at any time, in Safari, Firefox or Chrome. What's more, Sparkle lets you preview your website on mobile devices as well, over a local network.
